Finishing 2008 With a Bang

A short message from freezing Paris just to remind you all I'm still out here. Obviously, blogging comes a distant second when in the company of my new wife in the City of Love, so i know you'll forgive me.

Some fantastic news to finish 2008 came in the form of the inaugural Moggie Awards over at Media Hunter. A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that one of my posts had been shortlisted for the award for the best Australian marketing post for 2008.

Well, butter my escargots and call me Pierre! It won!

Full details of the contest can be found in my previous post. I'm highly honoured to be recognised. No plaque or glitzy awards ceremony, but the post may appear in Marketing Magazine and the blog will certainly gain additional exposure and links for its success. Huge thanks to those who chose my post as the winner and for Craig over at Media Hunter for running the awards.

There was also recognition for the Silver and Bronze moggies.

The silver went to Matt Granfield's brilliant post "How to Get the World's Attention Without Being Remarkable", while the bronze was awarded to the antics of Julian Cole and "NAB Spamming". Congratulations to my fellow winners. It just goes to show there is exceptional blogging talent in the antipodes.

As Paris and the ravishing Shelley are beckoning, I'm keeping this short. Happy New Year. Hopefully 2009 brings fantastic opportunities for all of you.
